Ojai is fantastic, surrounded by lemon trees and green mountains but the big charm is this. Honor system road stands outside someones ranch with whats avail for the day. Picked right there behind me, organic juicy lemons, avocados and some chard. Thank you!

So, a little more than two weeks have past since I planted my own little Cook’s Garden and now it’s time to harvest. I picked just enough for a salad. Curly kale, purple kale, mustard greens, lettuce, chard, arugula, basil, ginger-mint and parsley. All of it went down the salad bowl.  A little spicy and a lot of flavors going on, but I wanted a little of everything and I have to tell you, I’m a little proud too – my greens have grown so much the past weeks. 🙂

Förstahandsvalet när jag längtar efter något nyplockat och lagat med lite extra kärlek är alltid Malibu Farm. Där får jag inte bara ekologisk och lokalt odlat utan även ett gäng surfare med på köpet. Den här kvällen för en vecka sedan bjöds det på utsökta vågor som alldeles för många surfare tjafsade om och en hel drös delfiner, faktiskt. Hur mysigt som helst.

A tower of organic kale for juice and salads.

My first choice for organic, local and food made with a little extra love is the Farm cafe on the pier in Malibu. Anyone of you who’s been there knows what I’m talking about. The food, the cuteness, the surfers and all that can never go wrong.
