Bountiful dinner at waters edge

Farm Dinners are not only trending here in L.A. This a-perfect-way-to-dine concept is now being seen allover the place, like up in Morro Bay, which is a perfect spot to get fresh goods straight out of the ocean. So why not get together and enjoy some of the best seafood and greens from some of the best farmers and fisherman’s.

Happy fisherman’s friend.

These dinners are about introducing guests to the farmers who provide the ingredients for the meal.

One thing that caught my eye while reading the menu was the dessert – Sea kelp ice cream. Very interesting and probably very good too.

Doesn’t it look cool with a long communal table out by Morro Rock?  Morro Bay is located a couple hours up the coast from Santa Barbara. There are so many hidden beaches California to be discovered, it makes me wanna go roadtrippin. 🙂

Farm to table… at home! :)

Delicious swedish dinner! We did the “farm to table” concept tonight. We picked some fingerling potatoes, swiss chard, herbs, cherry tomatoes and horseradish from the garden and had grilled fresh salmon with it.  We rosted the potatoes in some coconut oil and threw it over the swiss chard, shaved fennel and zucchini, tomatoes and herbs and mixed the horseradish with some greek yogurt. Nom, nom! Simply delicious.

And now I’m figuring out what to do with these. Have a lovely hot summer night everyone. I’m gonna watch “Sommarkrysset” in the grass and then go for a jog, when the tropical heat has cooled off a little.

Mary’s country cafe, organic and local. I like!

I grew up in a tiny village in Sweden, surrounded by fields, farmhouses and old barns, very charming. I can see a big change from when I was a kid… there wasn’t so much to do or places to go back then. Most of these places was empty and run down. Now, there is pop-up cafes and restaurants, glass bars, small farmers markets and things, a little all over the place, all summer long.  All these old farm houses and barns has so much life today and charm. I love it.

I have to go back there next week to try some more of their good organic food.
