The sunshine state!

Don’t miss out on this gem! The grounds are breathtaking and are filled with lemon trees, olive trees, lavender, rosemary, rose gardens, flowers and flowers and flowers….

And mountain views. I heart San Ysidro Ranch! We ended our shoot day in SB a few days ago right here. That’s a pretty view over Channel Islands.

If you order the chefs special on the menu you’ll get a taste from his own organic vegetable garden.

Broccoli leaf, the new “it” leaf? Looks like it so don’t throw it away, juice it instead.

So lush!

These small hummingbirds are everywhere but they are so fast and hard to capture. So cute! This could have been the very last day of summer in the winter. What a perfect day!

In the jar!

A greenie anyone? In the jar: 1 frozen banana, 1 black apple, a large handful fresh spinach, 1 tbsp toasted almond butter, 1 tsp maca powder, 1 pinch himalaya pink salt, 1/2 tsp apple cider vinegar and coconut mylk. Maca goes really well with nut butters AND with raw cacao, but I didn’t do any cacao in this one. I wanted to keep it green.  Cheers and happy saturday!

Produce from Hello Harvest and super foods from Great Earth.

Eat local!

Surprise! This weeks box was loaded with crispy greens, berries, farm carrots, parsley, celery root, apples, eggs and bread. I really like Hello Harvest. If you live around L.A or up in Santa Barbara you should consider ordering weekly delivery from them. Everything is sourced from local family farms, crispy and beautifully put together. It really feels handpicked just for you.

Delicious strawberries.

Celery root tips: Cut the thick “skin” off and chop it, boil it until soft, drain and throw in the blender together with a little bit of butter and water, salt and freshly ground pepper. Blend until mashed and enjoy to some grilled salmon or so. It’s really good and much more tasty than potato mash 🙂
