Another kind of Sunrise on Abbot Kinney

I dropped by Another Kind of Sunrise this morning for some good fuel. This is a sweet little gem down a hidden path on Abbot Kinney.  A whole in the wall. Small menu. Great menu. Only open for brekky and lunch with a large following.  I hear that people are bragging about their Buttery Brew coffee where they blend coconut oil, grass fed ghee and roasted organic coffee.  They serve gluten free goods, smoothies, herbal teas, cold pressed juices and acai bowls.

Malibu’s finest to Country Mart

I love Malibu Country Mart. A lot has happened there these past 9 years. More stores and more eateries. It’s sad to see Howdy’s go though. It’s been there for as long I can remember. That day I landed on LAX with my huge suitcase filled with my life, my friend Peter (who lived here at the time) picked me up and we went straight here for some tacos. It was a warm saturday afternoon, lots of people out and tons of surfers. What a great opening scene coming straight from Sweden, I thought. 🙂

Howdys

Anyway, Howdy’s are only moving across the street to the Colony Plaza and the superb juicebar from Point Dume is planning on filling the space shortly.   I’m pretty stoked about that. They are awesome!   Sunlife Organics makes really nice Acai bowls alongside Earthbar and Main Squeeze.

Laird Hamilton riding the swells and I’m eating a acai bowl down the road.

It’s beautiful out. I’m sitting on the beach eating some breakfast. The waves are kinda big today. Not on this picture but Hurricane Marie brings big surf and many surfers takes the day off. It’s not everyday they get to ride these monsters. Again, I’m not referring to this picture – but I guarantee big once. Check out Laird Hamilton today in Malibu.

Acai bowls are always a great idea. I topped with some almond butter and added 1 tsp maca as well. Good energy, nutritious and delicious…. as I always say!
