Here is where you can see whats Ojai is all about. Here is where the locals hang out – the whole rainbow of locals. Second time I’m at this cute little healthfoodstore/farm/hippiehangout and cafe called Farmer and the cook. They serve raw food, vegan and lots of smoothies and juices. Everything you eat here comes from their own organic farm . On sunday nights they throw some more tables out on the parking lots, makes room for a band and fire up the wood oven and crank out pizzas all night. Whatever they have a lot of at the farm, they throw on pizzas, I think he said beets and squash… hm…  maybe next time..

Farmer and the cook is nothing you just bump into strolling down the boulevard. It’s very well hidden.

It’s always a great idea to keep some nutritious and delicious puddings in the fridge – to grab a spoonful here and there throughout the day when hunger strikes. I made this yesterday. Almond milk chia pudding with vanilla and raw honey and strawberry chia jam, also with vanilla.

Det är alltid en bra ide att ha chia pudding i kylen.  Några skedar här och där under dagen är perfekt när man blir sugen på nåt. Det här är chia pudding på mandelmjölk, vanilj och rå honung och så en jordgubbs chia jam, också den med vanilla. Gott och knastrigt ihop. 

I thought it was Eagles first but its actually Turkey Vultures that are flying so low here. They flew so close to me at one point I could see their red faces. They are HUGE and impressive birds and lots of them at the Meditation Mount in Ojai.

Det här är en Kalkongam. Hade aldrig hört namnet innan jag googlade översättning på Turkey Vultures. Kalkongam! Väldigt roligt namn på denna stora, stora fågel. Den flög så nära så jag kunde se det röda ansiktet. Med vingarna utsträckta vill jag tro att den mätte 1.77 cm, precis så lång som jag är. Vilken otrolig fågel va? Det flyger runt massor med Kalkongamar uppe i Ojais Meditation Mount. Så vackert.  

And some headstands. Feels so great doing that right here in these stunning surroundings. A perfect place to regroup and meditate.
