Mini hike in the Point Dume prettyness

You might be tired of me and my wildflowers by now. But I just have to show you this. I never get tired of it and i head over to Point Dume often when the yellows are in season. It frames up the Dume so nicely. I took a mini hike here today. I can’t think of any place more pretty than this with easy access from Venice. The  further north, the prettier California gets, I think. This is one of L.A’s hidden jewels and if you take your time up here you might even see a whale or two migrating.

I always park by the Dume itself. It has only a few spots but If you wait a little someone will soon leave. And then I walk up around the Dume over to the other side where I can see all the way to Zuma Beach. I walk down to Westward beach which is the one below the Dume,  and then back up again, around the other side all the way to the top. The views are insane from up there. And the beaches below on both directions are fantastic. Little Dume Beach, Pirates Cove and Westward Beach.  The Point Dume hike.

Solstice or something

Now when I got some more energy, I just have to take every moment I have to cruise up to the mountains somewhere close for a breather. Tomorrow if it’s not raining I’ve got Solstice Canyon in mind.

There is a pool where Olive can get wet and dirty in and rocks to jump on. If we continue we end up  fields with unlimited views.I hope the weather will be nice. Its been raining heavy tonight so maybe its to muddy. If so, a Point Dume hike would be great. 🙂

Malibu’s finest to Country Mart

I love Malibu Country Mart. A lot has happened there these past 9 years. More stores and more eateries. It’s sad to see Howdy’s go though. It’s been there for as long I can remember. That day I landed on LAX with my huge suitcase filled with my life, my friend Peter (who lived here at the time) picked me up and we went straight here for some tacos. It was a warm saturday afternoon, lots of people out and tons of surfers. What a great opening scene coming straight from Sweden, I thought. 🙂

Howdys

Anyway, Howdy’s are only moving across the street to the Colony Plaza and the superb juicebar from Point Dume is planning on filling the space shortly.   I’m pretty stoked about that. They are awesome!   Sunlife Organics makes really nice Acai bowls alongside Earthbar and Main Squeeze.
