chai almond latte

I am totally obsessed with this Chai almond latte at Gjusta Bakery. It’s not only the taste itself but also the adorable ceramic cup it’s served in.

This Anna and Olive!

Tumeric tonic @source cafe

The Source Cafe in Hermosa Beach just opened up a Pop-Up here on Main Street by me. All organic and local sourced with juices, smoothies, vegan pastries and treats, gluten free and all. I’m totally gonna give this new breakfast joint a try while they’re. This yellow tonic with turmeric was good and totally hit the spot.

The Source Cafe! I’m happy you’re here.

Kelly and his chia seeds.

Warning! This is an old post that I’m posting again… just because its worth reading again, the article i mean. 🙂

I read this article the other day  and i thick its great! The now Santa Barbara local Kelly Slater talks about his food philosophy and the way he fuels his body with clean foods. Kelly Slater (9-Time ASP champion) and one of our biggest pro surfers of all time is still in the game at age 42 and he is crazy about chia seeds. Also, check out his Insta account, he is sharing pics from all over the world. Mostly places with huge waves.

“Eating clean to me means not eating too many different types of foods all at once. I also try and eat a wide variety of the same nutrient. For instance, if you are into eating protein, I don’t think you want to always eat the same protein. You want to vary the types of amino acids you are eating. I’ve been eating chia for a number of years, but last year I was working out with a friend in Hawaii who said you can soak chia in coconut water overnight and eat it for breakfast. He said it has all the essential fats (Omega 3) you need and the amino acids. So I started doing that, then added berries and some nuts. It has become a staple for me“
