Tomorrow i finally get to blast up the highway to Santa Barbara again together with Stephanie. I love the winters in Santa Barbara. Or should i say fall? It’s november but still feels like fall. We are visiting Erin and Scott from Juice Ranch and one of the farms they use for their juicing greens. We’re gonna hang here a little. This part of Montecito is nice, between Butterfly beach and Miramar. Great place to live if you ask the Juice Ranchers.
And then we are going here for the golden glowing hour. I like it A LOT!!
O’boy, I don’t know where to start! So, yesterday we went over to M.A.K.E in Santa Monica where the raw food guru Matthew Kenny has his raw food culinary academy and also a restaurant. A rawfood gourmet restaurant for all the superfoodies out there. I still don’t understand WHY I haven’t been there yet!? But yesterday i was! M.A.K.E is one of the guests in the cookbook I’m currently working on. This is me and Scott Winegard… a Venice local, a base guitar player, a former punk rocker ( not the angry kind ) and now a creative rawfoodchef and food artist. He gave me lot of new things to think about when making a salad and a dressing for instance. Such a cool and humble guy and he likes the east coast.
And then we have me and Matthew… he is explaining what we’re about to eat. Also a Venice local who I actually got to meet for real, finally. Here we are sharing plates of goodness. Tree nut cheeses and spreads I can’t remember what they all were… except that they were insane. One of the things i loved was wonton something. Raw with kimchee and coconut shell with flavors from heaven. This place is fantastic and yepp, I’m gonna do some of his classes.
