What a pretty place! I discovered Lechuza beach a few months ago, a true hidden gem far north in the Bu. First time I was here, the steps down to the sand were gone and the beach was covered in rocks from the winter season. Still very pretty though. But this time It was just perfect. Beautiful sand, good waves, not too many people and a high cozy cove factor.
Lechuza beach in Malibu is located here. And I think it’s a must if you headed over this way. It IS a must!

A bunch of Aussies with guitars is always a nice thing for a beach day. I can listen to someone play the guitar all.day.long. It’s so soothing.

De flesta av stans “hidden gems” ligger i Malibu eller Topanga, om man frågar mig. Det finns så många unika ställen uppe i dessa berg med mycket historia bakom. Det här är ett sådant ställe och det var här Steve McQueen och grabbarna hängde under Hollywoods gyllene år. The old place Cornell är gammalt som gatan och gömt långt uppe i Santa Monica mountains. Allt är så härligt rustikt och så kan man se en och annan påfågel knalla runt, om man har tur.
Det ser nästan ut som en kuliss och passar in perfekt däruppe bland kringelikrokvägarna.
Har ni planer på att åka till Los Angeles, snälla stanna till här! Sätt upp er på listan, ta ett glas vin nästgårds och njut av 30 och 40- talets Hollywood.
Men det jag vill komma till är maten. Det finns nämligen ingen frys så allt är färskt. Är man vegetarian finns det ett berg med grillade grönsaker man kan beställa. Mätt blir man vill jag lova. Här är det fullt hus på brunch och middag med traktens locals och är väntelistan för lång kan man hoppa in i grannhuset för lite vinprovning.
Kanan is a beautiful mountain road that goes from the 101 freeway down to PCH in the northern part of Malibu. This rustic little place filled with Hollywood history is one of my favorite “hidden gems”. Tom Runyon who loved the Santa Monica Mountains and his wife opened The Old Place years and years ago and it became a local hangout for the L.A elite during Hollywoods golden era in the 30′s and 40′s and It’s still a secret spot for the local fames. It is located close to The Peter Strauss Ranch and Malibu Lake by Mulholland dr. Please drive out here if you have plans to come to L.A. You wont regret it. It’s a breather compared to Hollywood Blvd. 🙂 I really love the charm up here and the cute tasting room next door.
