It’s not often these road stands offers organic berries, but today they did. I grabbed the last box of organic strawberries, brought home, rinsed, chopped up and put in the freezer. Perfect for summer smoothies.

Topanga has a tinly little farmers market on fridays, with just a few vendors.  But they have it all covered. A honey guy, an olive oil guy, a citrus guy, a fish and meat guy, a bread lady, an egg lady, a fresh tamale lady, a sprouts guy, and then the greens of course. I was stoked to find passion fruits, my favorite fruit of all time. The bread lady makes glutenfree, sprouted seed bread just down the street also, how good is that! This market is all certified organic and actually pretty cheap and the location is awesome. Just look at the hills behind it.

I  have some leftover raw lemon cheesecake cheese in the freezer which will be great with some passion fruit. I love things sour from fruits and lemons.

Rustic Topanga.

I went over to the Santa Monica farmers market yesterday morning at Arizona ave. There were Heirloom tomatoes and citrus everywhere. I love this season. These type of tomatoes are my favorites and also the huge grapefruits, clementines and blood oranges. But first, some flowers.

And some fennel for juicing.

He had lots of good herbs too.

And look at these tomatoes. Tons and tons of them. So juicy and delicious. I got a bunch. Making a salad with farro, that I found here as well. Home milled organic Farro with 77 % protein. Farro is a whole grain great in salads. I’m gonna throw some walnuts in there too that I got here, and citrus and some other stuff. It makes me hungry!
