Hello!

You know what? We’ve got some sort of heatwave going on again. It’s about 9.30pm and I’m laying in the hammock outside working, and it’s not even one tiny little breeze. I’m loving it!

Today I watched the sunset from Palisades Park. Don’t forget about that park when you’re in Santa Moncia. It’s that park along Ocean Ave overlooking PCH and the ocean.  It’s really pretty and good for joggers, yogis and dog walkers… or for the siton-bench-and-watch-the-sunsetters.

I had the best veggie burger right before I stopped by here. A juicy flavorful veggie burger on Montana Ave with this talented woman.   I took some pictures but they didn’t make the burger any justice at all, maybe next time… cuz this is the place for it. R+D Kitchen.

Another gorgeous sunset in Cali. Cant get enough of sunsets.

Coco choco mousse

A fresh young coconut is such a treat for me. I usually throw the meat in smoothies, but today i “needed” something “fluffy and cold with chocolate” so i decided to make a Coco Choco Mousse.  Too crack open a coconut to scoop out the meat,  you might need a strong man handy 🙂 or If you just want to drink the water, it’s easy to cut off the top with with a sharp knife. But please be careful here!

Coco choco mousse:  1 cup meat, 1 small banana 1/2 cup coconut milk, 1 tbsp raw honey, 2 tbsp coconut chips, 1 tsp vanilla and 2 -3 tbsp raw cacao powder and a few mulberries. Mix it in a high speed blender until smooth. Place in glass cups and let it chill in the freezer for a few minutes. Add some coconut flakes and some sweet and delicious pomegranates on top right before serving. The water? I had some of it and the rest i put in the freezer, that way I have raw coconut water whenever I want 🙂

Melissa’s produce has beautiful pomegranates and coconuts right now… which is a great combo for delicious smoothies or desserts. And as i mentioned before, they offer free delivery farm boxes with organic and crispy produce.

What else can we do with coconut meat? Chop it up and put in salads, make probiotic yogurt, coconut milk, Ice cream or just eat it raw… but do it right away after hammering the shell… it gets dry really quickly.

James Perse for fall… for sure.

My favorite brand for this fall is James Perse. He sure knows how to make cozy and classic… and soft. I want all of this and I would like to camp out in those black tents on a deserted beach as well all wrapped up in comfy wool blankies. I love his whole approach to Malibu living and to the outdoors.
